7 Magical Theme Parks In Asia For The Whole Family

Asia is filled with many gems and wonders, making it the ideal travel spot for families with (or without) kids! In this article, we’ll be listing down some of our favorite theme parks in the continent. This might sound tacky, but theme parks are the happiest places on Earth! From exciting roller coaster rides to sweet treats and overpriced souvenirs, theme parks will not fail to put smiles on your family’s faces.

1. Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland is located in Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island and it has seven themed areas – Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land. Although it is considered as the smallest Disneyland ever existed, it is no less magical. You can take our word for it 😉

2. Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan in Osaka is a must-visit for all movie-loving families. It has some of our all time favorite rides, such as g Shrek 4-D Adventure (a must-try for kids!), Jurassic Park: The Ride, Jaws Ride, and Back to the Future. It also houses The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (a magical themed area based on the “Harry Potter” film series), not to mention other amazing themed zones such as “Attack on Titans” as well as Hello Kitty’s Fashion Avenue.

3. Shanghai Disneyland Park, China

Situated in Pudong, Shanghai, this Disneyland Park is the newest addition of its kind. It features seven themed areas – Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Fantasyland, Treasure Cove, Adventure Isle, Tomorrowland, and (like Hong Kong) Toy Story Land. The park combines Chinese elements with Disney scenes and is jam-packed with astonishing shows and sights too. It is also home to the first ever Chinese “Lion King” musical and the world’s first Toy Story hotel.

4. Lotte World, South Korea

Featuring a magical fairytale theme, Lotte World in Seoul is the ultimate theme park for adults and children. Not only is it home to the largest indoor theme park in the world, but Lotte World’s outdoor park is filled with interesting rides and attractions. In addition, Lotte World Garden Stage presents various themed musicals whereas Lotte World Star Avenue is the perfect place to experience Hallyu stars and the entertainment world.

5. Tokyo Disneyland, Japan

Opened in 1983, Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney park to be built outside the United States. The theme park has seven themed areas – the World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Critter Country, as well as Mickey’s Toontown. On top of that, it features tons of shows and parade to keep the magic going all day long for the whole family. If you’re into all things nautical, be sure to visit DisneySea! (Though we heard that it’s more for adults than children.)

6. Everland, South Korea

As South Korea’s largest theme park, it housesfive unique-theme zones – Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, European Adventure, and Zootopia. 7. Ocean Park, Hong Kong

Ocean Park is one of the oldest theme parks in Asia. Established in 1977, the marine-themed Hong Kong park is located at Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District.
