5 Yummy Banana Recipes For Babies

And if your baby is ready for solid foods, fruits and vegetables with high nutrients are great for your little one. One of favorites is banana.

Bananas make great first foods for babies. It’s packed with vitamins and minerals, such as fiber, Vitamin C and B6, Potassium, as well as Manganese. In addition, bananas very low in saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium.

1. Banana and peach purée

  • 1 white peach (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 banana (peeled and chopped)

2. Banana Toast

  • 1 piece of bread (sliced into “fingers”)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 60 ml of your baby’s usual milk (breastmilk/formula/cow’s milk)
  • Cinnamon


  1. Place the banana, milk and cinnamon in a bowl and mash or blend until smooth.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the bread into the banana mixture and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden.
  3. Serve

3. Two-Ingredient Pancakes

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg
  • Butter or coconut oil for frying


  1. Mash the banana. In a separate bowl beat the egg with a fork. Add the banana and mix until well combined.
  2. Heat a little butter or coconut oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add one tablespoon of the mixture to make each pancake. It will depend on the size of your frying pan but you should be able to cook 5 pancakes at a time.
  3. Fry for approximately 2 minutes on either side or until the pancakes start to brown.
  4. Serve immediately with some chopped fresh fruit.

4. Banana Bread sticks

  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup ground oats (grind oats and make a coarse oat flour)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon or ginger or cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 cup (~2) ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbs oil of choice


  1. Mix dry, mix wet, add wet to dry.
  2. Drop by the spoonful onto parchment paper or greased baking sheet.
  3. Bake 12-15 min at 350.

5. Banana porridge finger

  • 3 tbsp porridge oats
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 medium sized banana


  1. Soak oats in the milk for a couple of minutes until soft.
  2. Mash the banana and mix with the soaked oats.
  3. Press the mixture into a shallow microwaveable dish and microwave on a high setting for 2 mins. Alternatively, cook for 15 mins in the oven at 190°C.
  4. Once cooked, cut into fingers and wait until cool to serve.
