Now that you know how to boost your chances of having twins, how do you know for sure that you’re indeed expecting twins?
If you’re experiencing these symptoms, chances are that you have twins on the way:
1. Extreme nausea
Extreme nausea and not being able to keep any food down can be one of the first symptoms. You’re going through all the early pregnancy symptoms, but increase them tenfold – smells are more acute, lower bladder capacity, you feel absolutely fatigue, enlarged breasts. All this is happening because hCG, the pregnancy hormone, is being produced in large quantities.
2. Bigger belly
This is common sense but your belly is more likely to show if you’re having twins. While pregnancies usually start being obvious from the 12th week on, twin pregnancies start showing before the end of the first trimester.
3. Abnormal amount of movement
Along with a protruding stomach comes lots of movement. You’ll feel it earlier than normal as twins fill up the uterus much earlier and are in contact with the uterine wall as they bounce and flit around.
Now, this is a surefire way to determine if you have twins. It’s possible to check when you’re 12 weeks pregnant or earlier. On the other hand, there’s also a possibility that your babies might not appear on the screen until you’re 18 weeks into the pregnancy.
