Admit it, calming your temperament child is easier said than done. You’re probably guilty of using a tablet (or smartphone) to tame their tantrums. Because why not, right? All you have to do is turn on their favorite cartoon on YouTube and they’ll instantly be an angel.

But is YouTube a safe place for your kids to venture unsupervised?

According to a recent article by Gizmodo, it’s actually really easy for children to access inappropriate videos – even on the YouTube Kids App. For example, an explicit parody video of Elsa and Jack Frost will appear on Google or YouTube when the words “Elsa” and “Jack Frost” are typed on the search bar.

There are a few things you can do to ensure your little ones are watching appropriate videos on YouTube. Firstly, you can turn on YouTube Safety Mode and change your privacy settings. You can also report inappropriate videos by “flagging” them. Moreover, you can choose numerous kid-friendly channels for your kids to follow.
