To be honest, nine months is a really long time. So grab a bowl of popcorn and some comfy pillows because we have a list of movies for you to watch while you (im)patiently wait for your bundle of joy to arrive.

From male pregnancy to surrogacy, here are 9 movies you need to watch when you’re expecting:

1. Baby Boom (1987)

Let’s start with a classic, shall we?

Diane Keaton plays advertising exec J. C. Wiatt, a high-powered New Yorker becomes the guardian of a baby after a distant cousin dies. “Baby Boom” follows her as she tries to raise the baby, loses her job and boyfriend, as well as starting her own gourmet baby food company in Vermont.

2. Three Men and a Baby (1987)

This hilarious film is dedicated to all the fathers. Directed by “Start Trek” actor Leonard Nimoy, “Three Men and a Baby” follows the mishaps and adventures of three bachelors as they attempt to adapt their lives to pseudo-fatherhood with the arrival of a baby. The film was the biggest American box office hit of that year, grossing US$170 million in the US alone.

3. Junior (1994)

“Junior” is a comedy that centers on Dr. Alex Hesse (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger), an Austrian Research geneticist who impregnates himself using a fertility drug he and his colleague Dr. Larry Arbogast (played by Danny DeVito) invented as part of a scientific experiment.

4. Nine Months (1995)

Starring Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore, this 90s rom-com is the American remake of the French movie “Neuf mois” (1994). While Hugh plays a commitment-phobe named Samuel, Julianne stars as a beautiful dance teacher Rebecca. The couple’s relationship is put to the test when Rebecca finds out that she’s pregnant with Samuel’s baby.

5. Juno (2007)

“Juno” is probably one of our favorite mid-2000s coming-of-age movies of all time. In the film, high schooler Juno MacGuff (played by Ellen Page) discovers that she is pregnant by her friend and longtime admirer, Paulie Bleeker (played by Michael Cera). Although she considers an abortion at first, she ultimately decides to put her baby up for adoption.

Get ready some tissues, peeps. This film is an emotionally roller-coaster ride.

6. Waitress (2007)

“Waitress” is a heartwarming film about a waitress named Jenna (played by Kerri Russell) who is in an abusive and love-less relationship with her husband. When she plots to run away, she finds out she’s pregnant. Despite it being an unwanted pregnancy, she slowly becomes attached to her future daughter.

7. Baby Mama (2008)

Nothing can go wrong with a film starring American golden duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. “Baby Mama” follows Kate (played by Tina Fey) as she hires immature Angie (played by Amy Poehler) to be her surrogate. However, things get complicated (and funny!) when it’s revealed that Angie is not pregnant with Kate’s baby.

8. Life As We Know It (2010)

Though “Life As We Know It” starts with a tragedy, the Greg Berlanti-directed film is sweet and heartwarming story about life and parenting. The story focuses on Holly Berenson (played by Katherine Heigl) and Eric Messer (played by Josh Duhamel) as they try to raise their late best friends’ one-year-old baby girl.

9. What To Expect When You’re Expecting (2012)

“What To Expect When You’re Expecting” features a star-studded cast including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, and Anna Kendrick. The drama-comedy follows the lives of five couples as they experience the ups and downs of having a baby, and realize that no matter what you plan for, life does not always deliver what is expected.
