Putting your little one to sleep can be an exhausting task, especially for new parents. But trust me when I say it doesn’t have to be that way.
In case you didn’t know, lullabies are scientifically proven to lull babies to dreamland and can also ease pain and anxiety in babies and children. According to experts, it also helps strengthen the emotional bond between a parent and child. However, do take note that it’s important to leave the music playing gently throughout the night. The familiarity of the sound will make your baby feel secure and return to sleep when he (or she) wakes up in the middle of the night.
Don’t know where to find the perfect lullaby tracks for your baby? Luckily for you, there are tons of soothing playlists on Spotify to choose from. Be it classic lullabies to music box renditions of your favourite Disney soundtracks, these playlists are definitely going to help send your little angle to sleep:
1. Bedtime Mozart by Sleeping Mozart Relaxing Baby
British actress Helena Bonham Carter (who played Bellatrix Lestrange in the “Harry Potter” movies) once said that listening to Mozart and other classical music while pregnant has made her children ‘unbelievably smart’. Although there has been debate about the existence of the “Mozart Effect”, this playlist is bound to make any baby feel at ease.
2. Baby Sleep by Spotify
This is definitely one of my go-to lullaby playlists when I try to put my baby nieces to sleep. Not only does it contain beautiful piano remakes of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and ” Colors Of The Wind”, but also calming renditions of Adele’s “Someone Like You”, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”, and Calum Scott’s cover of “Dancing On My Own”.
3. Rockabye Baby! Renditions of Songs from Hamilton by Rockabye Baby!
If you are huge fan of the award-winning “Hamilton”, then this is the playlist you want your little musical star to sleep to.
Aside from “Hamilton”, the Rockabye Baby! series also includes lullaby versions of Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s tracks.
4. 2017 Lilting Lullabies by Sleep Baby Sleep
This playlist has all the old school lullabies you’ve ever heard of – from “Mary Mary Quite Contrary” to “How Much Is That Doggy In The Window, to “Baa Baa Black Sheep”.
5. Lullaby Music That Helps the Baby Sleep But Doesn’t Make Me Homicidal by Junichi Semitsu
The title says it all.
Let’s be honest, sometimes lullabies can get a little, well, boring. So why not try this not-so-conventional playlist by Junichi Semitsu (I don’t know who this brilliant individual is, but my baby nieces actually slept like angels the last time I played this).
